Why exactly four parts?

And there is a profound meaning in this as well! Before God led our ancestors out of slavery in Egypt, He made four promises to them:

Tell the Israelites:

I am the Lord! I'll take you away from captivity in Egypt,

I'll let go from slavery!

I'll save you: My hand is raised, and My punishments are terrible!

I will make you My people "And I will be your God, and you will remember that it is I—the Lord your God—who brought you out of Egyptian slavery.".

(Torah, Exodus 6:6–7)

That is exactly why Passover Seder It is divided into four parts. Furthermore, each of the four cups that mark the beginning of these parts of the Seder has its own name:

  1. KADESH («Consecration»)
  2. MAKKOT («Courts»)
  3. GEULYA («Redemption»)
  4. ALLELE («Glory»)

In the middle Seder, after finishing the second part and the second glass— McKott, but before the third act and the third glass— Geula, the main courses are served, and the Easter dinner begins— Shulchan Aruch («festive table»). As we already know, the Easter dinner begins with eating a hard-boiled egg (Learn more here), and ends with a meal Afikoman, after which Seder continues with the two remaining parts — Geula and Allel. And what's in between?

So what should we serve for dinner?
